Starlooks Box Review

We all want the latest makeup products, but how do we know if they will work for us? Of course you can look for makeup review on this site, or any other review site. Which is wonderful, and I’m glad you’re here for this review. Although there are many other options for you to test out the latest and greatest makeup products. So what is this other option? There are companies out there, that for a monthly fee, will send you samples of these awesome products. One of these wonderful companies is Starlooks.
I was able to receive Starlooks August Starbox which features some really awesome products that were hand picked by Lauren Bradley. The box I received was their first special edition box, and I definitely have to agree that it was special! My box came with some very pretty pink lip gloss and some really gorgeous eyeliner.
Before I talk about the products let me talk about the focus of this box, Lauren Bradley. Lauren is a very famous fashion designer that has worked with Heidi Klum, Regina Spektor, Chris Martin, and many more. She believes that every woman should look no further than our natural form to find our true beauty. I was very excited to try the products that she picked for this box.

The lip gloss is very pretty. The color is absolutely amazing, and lasted way longer than a lot of glosses I have used before. Not only is the bottle pretty, but the brush is really awesome and makes it really easy to apply. The lip gloss itself is not too thick, and creates a perfect shine on my lips. It surprisingly also helped moisturize my lips, which was a major plus.
The second product included in the box was one of my new favorite makeup products, eye liner. Until recently I have not ever really been introduced into the makeup world. I have only really seen what is included in the cheap sections of store like Target or Walgreens. Because of my blogging adventures I have learned what good makeup is really like. This particular eye liner comes in a jar and you use a brush to apply it. This type of eyeliner is VERY new to me, so I was excited to compare it to traditional eye liner.
This eyeliner almost looks gold in the jar, but is a lot darker on the eyes, which is great for me. I hate that when using cheap eye liner you get this awkward mirror effect from it. If you try to get rid of it you end up ruining the rest of your makeup. What seems like something that is too thick to put on your eyes ends up being extremely easy to apply. It glides on like no other liner I have ever used, it does not create a mirror effect, and it stays on for hours. Not only that but it does not crack, and dries very quickly. I even left it on over night and the majority was still there.

I really like my Starbox, and for $15 I believe you get more then your monies worth. Their products are really great, and their customer service is also great. You can find Starlooks on their website here.

MindWare Toys Review

It’s not often that we, as parents, can find a toy that not only is entertaining to our kids but also educational at the same time. That’s where MindWare toys comes in. Not only do they have great toys that are both parent and kid approved, but their toys also help educate, and stimulate your child’s mind.
We received MindWare’s Pattern Play Which is a board with 40 different blocks, and each color is a different size. The goal of the game is to make different patterns using the blocks. If also comes with a bag to place everything in, and even comes with little cards that have different designs that your child can try to duplicate.
While I knew my daughter would love this toy, I really had no idea how much. As soon as I took it out of the box she began tearing at the packaging. She started playing with the blocks before I could even get the plastic off of the box. Every day since we have gotten the Pattern Play she will point to it and beg for us to sit down and play. If I let her, she will play with it for hours!
My daughter is only 2 years old, and just turned 2, while this toy is for ages 3+. She may not be able to play with it like a 3 year old, or be able to really understand what your supposed to do with it, but she loves to hand me the blocks and loves to put them where she thinks they should go. Because of this game my daughter can not only recognize colors, but knows which colors are which and can now even say the names of each color. I knew that this toy would be a great tool to teach her these things and more, but I had no idea how fast it would help. It took a matter of days to understand it all!
One thing I suggest to anyone who owns this game, would be to put the blocks up when you or your child are not playing with it, and to make sure you keep track of all the blocks. Even just loosing one piece would make it difficult to make the patterns.
Our Pattern Play is definitely a game that will be around my house for a long time! I would highly recommend this toy to anyone looking for something different for their family that gets both themselves and their children thinking!

Bare Body Soaps Organics Review

There are way too many soaps out there that smell good, are good for the environment, and are healthy for our skin. I personally believe that the best soaps out there are handmade. Not only do they smell way better, but are just higher quality then most soaps you buy in the store. I was able to get some soap from Bare Body Soaps Organics to review for you.

I absolutely love this soap. It smells wonderful! I received Organic Rose Geranium Soap, and Organic Lavender Soap. Both have bits of the flowers in them, which I think is a great touch.

My favorite scent for any smelly products is Lavender. Lavender is meant to help calm, and heal. This particular soap has real lavender buds in it to help exfoliate your skin. With two kids running around I can use all the calming I can get. This soap made my skin soft, and did in fact help me relax.

I love the scent of any flowers, especially roses. So my next choice was the Rose Geranium Soap. This soap uses rose clay, which is not only great for the skin and the color of the pink soap, but can also be used for shaving as the clay makes the lather a little thicker then you average soap. This soap’s scent is a little stronger then the lavender soap and makes my entire kitchen smell like a rose garden. I love it!

Vapor4Life E-cigarette Review

One thing that I have been seeing a lot of lately, and have been wanting to review for quite some time has been the notorious e-cigarette. The e-cigarette is a small vaporizer, that has all the qualities of a regular cigarette without all of the defects such as tar, smell, and of course without the smoke. So why have we not already done the switch? Some e-cigarettes leave a funny after taste, or just plain taste funny, and the majority of them are too expensive. So I went on a search to find you the best e-cigarettes with the best prices, and I think I found them.
We were able to get my husband a Classic VP Automatic e-cigarette from Vapor4Life to review for you guys. We got a black e-cigarette with a tip that glows green. Yes, green! My husbands favorite cigarette brand happens to be Kamel Reds. They are very expensive, and very hard to find and he was very excited to try the e-cigarette version. The kit my husband received would cost $29.95 and includes one battery, one charger, a pack of cartomizers, and a really awesome carrying case. Which compared to many e-cigarettes I have seen is a really great deal!

Still confused about e-cigarettes, and what they are all about? An e-cigarette is a small vaporizer in the shape of a cigarette. The longer piece is the battery, and the shorter pieces are the cartomizers. The cartomizers are what hold the e-liquid that when plugged into the battery is heated up and produces the vapor. So why should you make the switch to e-cigarettes?
  • E-cigarettes are so much cheaper then smoking regular cigarettes! Sure, at first you have to buy a kit, but after that the price of the cartomizers more then makes up for it.
  • E-cigarettes do not leave behind that nasty smoke smell. So you don’t have to spray on cologne, or perfume just to hide the smell.
  • With e-cigarettes you don’t have to feel guilty about smoking (or vaping) near others. e-cigarettes don’t emit smoke, or any other harsh chemicals in the air. So you can smoke in you house, the bar, or even work without offending anyone or feeling guilty.
Do we think its worth it? Do we think E-cigarettes are comparable to the real thing? Like I said before, we have been looking for a good e-cigarette for a while now. We have tried many that other friends and family have, but never found one that really wowed us. Sure they were okay, but they were not great. Most other e-cigarette companies have limited flavors, or options. So if you want your Kamel Reds, or you want your Virginia Slims, you would just have to settle for the one flavor they have. With Vapor4Life there is not settling. You can not only have your Kamel Reds, or your Virginia Slims but you can choose the color, style and anything else you want. I have not seen this many options from any other company.
Vapor4Life offers more then 150 different flavors! They have many different cigarette flavors, as well as coffee flavors, drink flavors, and even your favorite deserts! So you can trust that you will never get bored with your e-cigarette. Are these flavors any good? The Kamel flavor my husband received is by far the best e-cigarette tobacco flavor we have ever tried! There was not a gross after taste, and it tasted just like a regular cigarette. It still gave him the burn, and the nicotine that he wanted, while not destroying his throat, and without smelling like cigarettes the rest of the day. The vapor itself is also thicker then other brands, so you really feel like your smoking a cigarette. The e-cigarette is also lighter then others, so it doesn’t feel as awkward as others do.
Looking to quite cigarettes? With Vapor4Life you can decide the nicotine level in you e-cigarette. How would this help you quit? You can start off at a higher level strength cartomizer that compares to your normal smoking habits. For me this level was 11mg, and for my husband 18mg. After you get used to your e-cigarette you can then get a lower level until eventually you are at 0mg which is something you definitely can not do with regular cigarettes.
When I first started looking up e-cigarettes I was so confused about the different options. Such as: What is the difference between manual and automatic? What is a Cartomizer? What would be a good mg to start off with? Luckily for us the Vapor4Life customer service is absolutely amazing, and was able to help us figure that kind of thing out. I spent hours trying to figure out the difference between an automatic and a manual. The difference is very simple, a manual has a button that activates the battery while the automatic does not. The regular cartomizers are pre-filled and ready to go, while the blanks need to be filled with e-liquid before use.

Whirl-a-Style Review and Giveaway

Are you sick of not being able to create a perfect hair bun, or not having enough time to create one? For me, I have not being able to create a pretty hair bun for a formal outing. I love being able to dress up, but I hate how long it takes to get my hair to match my outfit, look nice, and that hopefully will stay up for the whole night. That is where this amazing product, the Whirl-a-Style, comes in. You can create a perfect bun, in a matter of minutes. Not only is the process quick and easy, but it will look great, and stay looking great all day, or night unlike the traditional hair tie.
First you unsnap your Whirl-a-Style put your hair in-between the slit, slide it down your hair until you are a couple inches from the ends, or as close as you can get if you have long hair like mine.
Then you slowly twist the Whirl-a-Style until you reach your scalp.
Lastly, you take the Whirl-a-Style pull each end together, and snap it closed.
Once I understood how to put the Whirl-a-Style in my hair, it was very simple to do. As I said earlier, my hair is very long, so it is very hard to create a pretty up-do without falling apart or just not looking right. So I was very excited about doing this review. I knew that if it worked for my hair, it would work for many others as well. Having long hair did make it a little more difficult to use, but it was still very easy and very quick. I think that this product would be great for just about every hair type, and with the different sizes, and colors they offer you can find the perfect Whirl-a-Style for you.

Roaring Springs Paper Products Review and Giveaway **Closed**

Of course we know that recycled paper is healthy for the environment, but what if we could do better then that? What if I told you that there was a paper product that is not made from trees, but is also not recycled?
Roaring Springs have been in business for over 125 years, so you know that their products must be pretty good. The notebooks on the top are from Roaring Spring Paper Products, and are made from Sugar Cane Fibers instead of trees. I was worried that these notebooks would not be high quality, or would look weird, but instead they look like regular paper and are of better quality than your average recycled paper notebook. Ink glides perfectly onto the paper, and it also seems to hold ink better.
How is sugarcane paper possible? Sugarcane paper is made from a part of the sugarcane plant that would normally would be wasted during the sugar-making process. So instead of this extra part of the plant, the “Bagasse,” being thrown away, Roaring springs takes this and turns it into paper to be more environmentally friendly.
Roaring Springs offers lots of high quality recycled notebooks, legal pads, and many more different paper options. The colored notebooks on the bottom are part of their Wide collection of notebooks that are meant to look similar to a computer screen, and the mini’s are great for note taking on the go. The colored notebooks are my favorite, as it is hard to find high quality colored paper, at least not without a high price tag. I love writing on the unique shape and I think it actually helps make it easier to write something, and not have it smudge when you continue to write one it. Regular legal pads were always a pain for me, so this is a breathe of fresh air.
Roaring Springs offers so many different options for your paper needs that I can’t even begin to list them all. From what I have tested so far I think that you would be happy with any of their products. You can find these and other great products on their website here.

Paul & Joe Review

Does this sound like you, or someone you know? If so then I have something really cool to share with you.
When you look at all the Paul & Joe products you can’t help but think about how cute they are. To me Paul & Joe products are adult beauty products in kids packaging. Before you think that this is a bad thing, please reconsider. Their products may have all the fun qualities of children’s play makeup such as fun colors, and fun packaging, but they have the quality of some of the most expensive cosmetics without the price tag. I was able to receive a sample of their nail polish as well as their lip gloss from their summer 2012 cosmetics line.
Before I share with you my findings on these products I wanted to tell you why I was beyond excited to review them The summer 2012 line is inspired by Shakespeare’s play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” So this lines colors are made to remind you of everything that has to do with my favorite thing, fairies! I could not wait to get this collection into my hands!
The first product that I am going to talk about is the “Fairie Kisses” Lip gloss. At first I was terrified of using this product. Remember when I said that the colors and designs reminded me of children’s makeup? This lip gloss is the man reason I said that. Not only is the lip gloss in a tube that a child would love, which mine does, but the lip gloss itself is green. Green is one of my least favorite colors, and definitely not a color I would choose for my lips, but I decided to try it anyway.

I was very surprised with this product. What I thought would be a horrible experience ended up being amazing. The lip gloss not only went on clear, but stayed on for a very long time. It was not overly sticky and did not make my lips feel weird or dry out when it wore off. In fact, it actually plumped and even conditioned my lips. I could not believe how amazing my lips looked and felt with this lip gloss on. It must have been the added pixie-dust!
My favorite of the two that I received was the “Pixie” nail polish. Pixie is a very sparkly silver based nail polish that when in the light comes to life by showing its many sparkling colors. While I generally love silver, I don’t normally wear it for long because the color either fades or the silver just becomes boring. I don’t think Pixie will ever becomes boring or will ever lose its shine!
This nail polish glides on like no other nail polish I have used. With most glittery nail polish it either takes a few tries to lay flat or will leave a lot of bumps on the surface from the glitter itself. I did not come across either problem when applying this nail polish. I only have to use 2 coats to get an amazing layer of color over my nails.
One thing I have always struggled with when it comes to nail polish is getting it to stay on my nails. Nail polish will literally peel right off in a matter of minutes, even acrylics will start to lift off of my nails on the first day. I am proud to report to you that this nail polish did not lift, peel, or even lose its perfect shine for over a week. I was so excited that I finally found a polish that not only looks great but that actually stays on my nails too. I will definitely be buying more of this nail polish, along with other colors in the very near future!

NetTalk Duo Review and Giveaway **Closed**

Now that everyone has cell phones, not many of us have home phones any more. But for those of us that cannot afford a fancy cell phone, or don’t want to sell our soul for a mobile contract, or even for those of us that have a business that needs a separate business line, we still need a home phone for some reason or another and don’t want to pay the high prices of having a home phone. Where I live we only have a limited number of choices for any type of entertainment service. Until recently we could only get one Internet company that was not so great, one telephone company that was expensive, and our only television option was satellite. Recently we have had access to a better company, but in order to use their phone or television services we have to sign a contract. Living in an apartment with a six month lease, and signing a 2 year contract for television just does not scream “good idea” to me. This next product gives you the option of having a telephone, without the contract, and without the high price.

I’m sure you have heard of the Magic Jack, or you have at least heard of a similar product before, right? Well NetTALK has come up with something similar, but much better then the Magic Jack. My only computer happens to be a laptop, so having a phone pretty much permanently connected to my computer, like the Magic Jack, really is not an option for me. Which is why the NetTALK Duo is such a great product. The NetTALK Duo can connect to your wifi, so you don’t need to have it plugged into your computer.
While the set up process was relatively easy, I think that it could be made a little easier with possibly a set up disk or something similar. The directions seemed simple enough, but when I started to actually try to complete them things got a little harder. First, I had to find a place that I could sit down with my computer, my phone, and of course the Duo so that I could concentrate on getting it set up. The software can take some time to download, and when it comes to downloads on the computer I can be very impatient. After the software download is complete you have to fill out your information, and make an account. Which was also simple, but took some time. Finally I was able to unplug the Duo and the phone and put them where I wanted them to stay. I was yet again left sitting next to the computer waiting for something to happen. Right when I was about to start all over, the phone rang letting me know that it was working.
One major issue that I have run into while using my Duo, is that periodically it will just stop working and I will have to re-enter my IP address into the program on my computer. The Duo does not give me any warning that this has happened, and the only way I can find out if it has happened is to try to make a call. If my call goes through, great! If it does not ring, then I have to re-enter my IP address again. I have made it a habit to check my phone every morning just to make sure that it is working, which generally it is, but it is not fun to worry about whether or not I missed a call in the process.
As with any online communication, talking on the phone can be a little sketchy. Unless you have a very fast, reliable Internet connection that never fails you, your phone may be a little staticy from time to time. Our Internet runs at approximately 10 Mbps but can jump anywhere from 7-15 Mbps at any given time. We not only run this phone off of our connection, but we also run my computer, and our Playstation, which is either being used to play games online, or to watch television shows on Hulu. So by the time we added the phone, there wasn’t very much bandwidth left to begin with. Because of this our phone will often cut out, or will be very staticy. When we are only using the phone, it seems to work pretty well, and doesn’t cut out as often.
Even with the few problems it does have, I still love my Duo. I don’t have to worry about contracts, or my phone being shut off because of a late bill.
NetTALK also just came out with an app for your smart phone that allows you to have free calling to the US and Canada, without using up all your minutes. They currently have apps for both Android enable phones and the iPhone.

Zebra Pens Review

I absolutely love pens! Especially ones that have pretty colors, but who wouldn’t? I was very excited to learn about my first review for shoplet.com. I was even more excited when I saw my pens, and noticed that one was purple, which if you haven’t guessed by now is one of my favorite colors!
Out of the 8 pens I received this purple Zebra Z-Mulsion EX Ballpoint Pen was my favorite. Not only is it my favorite color, but it is a wonderful pen. It fits perfectly into my hands, and it writes extremely smooth. There’s nothing I don’t like about this pen! It’s the perfect size, the perfect color, had a rubber grip so that it doesn’t slip, and is very comfortable and easy to use. I have not had any issues with this pen, and I don’t think it will ever let me down!

This next pen was another favorite of the bunch. It is the Zebra F-301 Retractable Ballpoint Pen.

While the ink may not be a pretty color, it is definitely a wonderful pen. It writes extremely smooth, even more so than the Z-Mulsion pen, and makes it very easy to write. While it is a little heavier then I would think it would be because it is a small pen compared to most similar pens, it was not too heavy which was nice. The grip is not rubber like I would like, but does have texture to it which makes it easy to grip. The pen itself is very stylish, and would look great on any desk.

Zebra offers many different writing products like these pens, and even pencils. After trying the products I received I can definitely say that Zebra is my new go to pen company, and I will gladly be purchasing more in the future.
