Nickelodeon Holiday Gift Guide Review!

With our youngest finally ready to make the switch we could not be more excited about the Dora Toddler Bed!

Normally I am not a HUGE fan of Dora products mainly because of the colors, but I was really impressed with the toddler bed I received. Another thing that I was impressed with was how simple it was to put together. In about 30 minutes the bed was ready for my toddler to jump in and go to sleep. I know a lot of us want our toddlers to have the nice wooden beds, but with the price and how plain they are I’m not sure its worth it. With these beds not only do they last a long time, but they are inexpensive and have your childs favorite characters on them. Our oldest daughter has had this same bed with a different character on it for over a year and it is still standing strong, so you really get your monies worth with these beds.

Another thing my girls were excited about was the Spongebob Squarepants Giant Coloring Pages coloring book.

My girls love to color! One breaks the crayons while the other one eats them, which is pretty awesome but a big mess. I love the Giant Coloring Pages because they can both color the same page without getting upset about having to share. There is plenty of room for them both to color! It also has a code on the package that lets you create coloring pages from your favorite photos. I think it would be awesome to let the girls color our favorite family photo.

Lately my 2 year old has been absolutely obsessed with my makeup so I have been searching for a good makeup kit for her. Nickelodeon offers a great makeup set called the Winx Club Glam Makeup Case.

I love how solid the case is! It was definitely not something I expected! I also love that it comes with makeup applicators. My little one is always trying to take my makeup brushes to use with her pretend makeup. Another thing that is great about this case is that you can place all your little ones other makeup products underneath the slide out palettes. This will be keeping my daughter entertained for hours! This is something that you won’t regret buying that’s for sure!

One of my daughters obsessions other than just makeup is lip balm. I was very happy when I saw this next set.

Not only does this set come with 4 different lip balms with Dora on them, but it also comes with a little tin to hold them in. My daughter is obsessed with purses and things so she is super excited about the tin. I’m glad that this set comes with actual lip balm too! We got a makeup set not too long ago that came with lip jelly. I’m still not quite sure what lip jelly is, or how to get it out of my carpet so this set makes me really happy! It also comes with different flavors so your little one can choose their favorite!

Mommy is obsessed with having her nails painted, so of course the girls want to paint theirs too. Since they can’t use mommies nail polish this next set is perfect!

This is the Kiss It Paint It set. It comes with two bottles of nail polish and two tubes of lip gloss and something to carry them with. I love that the colors are not too bright so my girls can paint their own nails, and if they mess up its not a big deal. It is also really thick so that if the bottle tips it wont spill everywhere. Another great thing about these last two makeup sets is that they are very inexpensive. You don’t have to spend a fortune to make you princess happy.

Cool Westcott Products For the Holidays

Wrapping presents during the Holidays can be a real pain. Luckily we can find products to help us make wrapping presents more easily, and Westcott has some great products that you should know about. I was able to receive three great products from Shoplet.com to review for you: Westcott Titanium Bonded 8″ Non-Stick Straight Scissors, Westcott Kids Scissors With Microban Protection, and a Westcott Scissor Mouse.

The first thing I am going to talk about is the Westcott Titanium Bonded 8″ Non-Stick Straight Scissors. I just love how sturdy the name makes these scissors sound. What’s great is that they look even better! I love that the blades are more of a sparkly silver color than the traditional stainless steel color. The handles are more comfortable than any other scissors I have used which made them very easy to use.

This is the description from Shoplet.com:

“The very latest technology from Westcott combines titanium with a unique non-stick coating that is permanently bonded to the blades, delivering improved cutting performance. Blades are five times harder than stainless steel, stay sharper longer and are resistant to adhesives such as glue, adhesive tape and Velcro. For left or right hand use. Cut Length: 3 1/4″ Scissor Length: 8″ Tip Type: Pointed.”

I love that they are coated and resistant to glues and tapes. I know that this is not office or really Holiday related, but I like to use tape to decorate my nails and I always get the tape stuck to the scissors and it is extremely difficult to get it off. These scissors are great for craft projects because you don’t have to worry about things getting stuck to them.

Next up is the Westcott Kids Scissors With Microban Protection. I remember using kids scissors when I was a kid, and I always hated how they wouldn’t actually cut what I wanted them to cut. These scissors actually work great, and have the protected edges. So you get the best of both worlds. My daughter loved that she had her own scissors and immediately starting cutting the wrapping paper. She was so excited that she could help me wrap some presents. Here is the description of the kids scissors from Shoplet.com:

“Stainless steel safety blades. Perfect for cutting projects, in the classroom or at home. Handles infused with Microban antimicrobial product protection to inhibit the growth of bacterial odors. Cut Length: 2″ Scissor Length: 5″ Tip Type: Blunt.”

What I think is extra special about these scissors is that they have the Microban Protection Coating. I know that my girls will be protected from germs with these scissors, and I know that they will be easy to clean when they are done with them.

Last but not least is the Westcott Scissor Mouse. It looks like a computer mouse, but it has a blade on the bottom so you can use it to safely cut your wrapping paper or craft paper. I really like that the blade is hidden so that you won’t cut yourself or anything else but the paper that you are trying to cut. So not only is it great for adults, but it is great for kids of all ages too! Here is the description from Shoplet.com

“This revolutionary device acts like rolling scissors and its ergonomic design won’t harm surfaces. The scissor mouse cuts with a smooth paper slicing action which makes gift wrapping a breeze! One thing I did not like about the Scissor Mouse was that it needs to be used on a flat surface like a table. I have ALWAYS wrapped my presents on the floor and the Mouse does not like carpet. When I used it on the table it worked great, so for future crafts with the girls, or anything else that I may be doing on the table this would be great! As long as you are using it on a table it works great, and is pretty simple to use. I think that they should have designed it a little differently by having it be two pieces joined together by the blade so that you can slide the paper in between the two pieces to cut it. That way you could use it on any surface. Either way, this little guy will be something I can give the girls and not have to worry about them getting cut, or hurting any of mommies things.

Overall I thought that these products were great, and that they would be a wonderful addition to any home. I am glad that I got these in time for the holiday season and they have already helped me wrap many presents, and I’m sure they will wrap many more in their time. Kidtronic My-Word-Magnets Review and Discount Code

I love my two year old! But what I do not love is that she loves the magnets on our fridge, and loves to destroy them! So I went on a search to find magnets that were not only fun for her, but would help her learn. What I found is a really awesome magnet set from My-Word-Magnets.

I received their Magnet Super Bundle to review for you guys. The great part about their bundles is that you can personalize the kit by choosing your own words to add to the already huge selection of included words. I was able to get magnets for all my daughters favorite people and things, as well as one for Star Focal of course!

The kit I received had the option to add 15 words of my choosing. I thought that it would be no problem choosing that many words, but I was wrong. After sitting in front of the computer for what seemed like hours I noticed a little wizard on the page named Wendell. Wendell was a life saver! Wendell will ask you questions to help you come up with ideas of words to add to your list. After finding Wendell it took only a couple of minutes to add the last of my words, and I was ready to receive my kit!

I love that this bundle comes with so many magnets! My daughter can play with these for hours and never get bored. Some of the magnets are even color coded and have different colors for nouns, verbs and more. The set also comes with number and symbols so they have everything they need to create their own sentences, or even solve math problems!

The magnets come in sheets, and you get to take them apart. For some kids this could just add to the fun, or for some parents it could just mean more work to do. I just wish that I had looked at all the words carefully before shoving them in the box, but with an excited two year old begging to play I couldn’t really wait. One word that I wish it had was “love.” I’m not sure if it was just missing out of my kit for some reason or if it doesn’t come in any of the kits, but if you plan to order one make sure to add it to your list of words!

The Super Bundle also comes with their Super Safety Board, which is great because my girls don’t have to use our fridge to play with the magnets. I was very surprised about how sturdy the board was and how easy it is to play with. My girls can now play with their magnets and mommy can have her fridge space back!

My girls really loved to play with this set. Sure they can’t quite come up with their own sentences, but they still had a lot of fun. My two year old was even able to recognize some of the words, which was really awesome! Radio Flyer "How Do You Roll?" Groove Glider Scooter Review and Giveaway Closed

I remember when I was younger and everyone had a scooter, and if you didn’t have one you were not cool. I begged and begged until finally I got a scooter for Christmas. Other than the fact that it was blue and not pink I could not have been happier. Now that I have two little girls I live for those moments that make my girls happy. I was able to get Radio Flyer’s new Groove Glider to review, and not only was I excited but my little one was super excited to help me review her new toy.

When we first got the box we could not wait to open it, and as soon as my little girl saw it she pointed to the picture and said “cute!” She is two years old so any compliments from her mean a lot. I was a little surprised that we had to put it together, but it was very simple and took a matter of minutes to do. I could not believe how cute the scooter is. Its white and pink which is perfect for my little princess!

Now on to the fun part, learning to ride a scooter! Like I said earlier my daughter is only 2, so it will be a while before she will fully grasp the concept of riding a scooter. Even so she has learned to ride it for about a foot before falling over. It is very simple to ride, and is sturdy enough for me to show her how to ride it although I would not recommend it for adults. Another great feature is that the handle bar is adjustable so you can trust that it wont be too tall or too short for your princess to ride. My daughter will ask all day to ride her “Wee” and I love watching her learn to ride it. I know that this scooter will be around for a while and I know that her and her little sister will love it until they are too old for it.

So why is this scooter called the Groove Glider? Each Groove Glider Scooter comes with a removable mp3 speaker! You can connect virtually any mp3 player, such as your iPod, to the speaker and your little girl can listen to their favorite songs while they ride their favorite scooter. Since it is white and pink it will match just about anything so it can be placed on other toys she has or even her backpack. It also has a little mesh sleeve on the inside so that you know your mp3 player will be safe.

Packaways Review

My daughters room is full of toys. So many that we have a hard time putting them away and keeping them away. If we use a toy chest she just opens it up and takes all the toys out and leaves them all over the floor. We definitely needed a way to keep all of her toys organized while still keeping them in her room that would also be hard for her to get into. We received some boxes from Packaways to review.

I love the boxes we received! They are really easy to set up, and they have a really awesome design. When they are put together they remind me of colorful Chinese take out boxes, I’m still not sure why. I love that you can write on the labels with a dry erase marker so that if you change the contents you can also change the label.

Each box has special flaps, cuts and holes in them so that you can put them together quickly and hassle free. I’m sure we have all closed boxes using the criss cross method, but not only does it ruin the box, but you can get paper cuts which are the worst. You use a similar method to close these boxes but with the way they designed it you don’t have to ruin the box, you don’t get paper cuts from it, and the best part is that it won’t accidentally come undone while you are trying to move the box.

We used our Packaways for our daughters toys, but there are so many other ways to use these boxes. You can use them for moving, paperwork, storage or anything else you need boxes for. They come in many different sizes, and tons of colors! The possibilities are endless! I will definitely be buying more of these boxes and I think that everyone should have at least one of these boxes laying around.

Care For Our World Activity Set Review

I don’t know how well story time goes at your house, but at mine it is very hard to get my kids to sit still through a whole book without being promised something first. Which is why I love this next product.

The Care For Our World Activity Set not only includes a book to read to your children, but also includes punch out animals like the ones in the story, as well as an area to play with them on. It’s very easy to keep your child’s attention while reading to them because they can act out the story as you are reading it to them. I love how thick the pieces are, and out easily everything fits together.

My kids love to play with this set whether or not I am reading them the story. So not only so you get a good book to read for them, but you kids also get a great toy that they can play with. It comes with dozens of punch out animals, so your child will have a blast letting you know which is their favorite, and also learning about all of the different animals.

The book itself is really great. Your children will learn about all of the different animals, and other wild life while also learning about how to take care of them. Which is something I believe all kids should learn about. With this gift set they can learn about taking care of their world the easiest way possible, while having fun!

One thing I did not like about this set is that the punch outs were not numbered, and did not have any names on them. The piece the all the punch outs come out of has names next to each piece but unless you keep that piece and put all the cut outs back each time after you are done playing it would be very hard to keep track of which animal goes to which stand. Even a bigger box would solve that problem just because you would be able to just set them in the box instead of taking them apart. Either way I do still love this set, and all of its many pieces. I think that this is a great set for families like mine that have a hard time sitting down for story time.

MindWare Toys Review

It’s not often that we, as parents, can find a toy that not only is entertaining to our kids but also educational at the same time. That’s where MindWare toys comes in. Not only do they have great toys that are both parent and kid approved, but their toys also help educate, and stimulate your child’s mind.

We received MindWare’s Pattern Play Which is a board with 40 different blocks, and each color is a different size. The goal of the game is to make different patterns using the blocks. If also comes with a bag to place everything in, and even comes with little cards that have different designs that your child can try to duplicate.

While I knew my daughter would love this toy, I really had no idea how much. As soon as I took it out of the box she began tearing at the packaging. She started playing with the blocks before I could even get the plastic off of the box. Every day since we have gotten the Pattern Play she will point to it and beg for us to sit down and play. If I let her, she will play with it for hours!

My daughter is only 2 years old, and just turned 2, while this toy is for ages 3+. She may not be able to play with it like a 3 year old, or be able to really understand what your supposed to do with it, but she loves to hand me the blocks and loves to put them where she thinks they should go. Because of this game my daughter can not only recognize colors, but knows which colors are which and can now even say the names of each color. I knew that this toy would be a great tool to teach her these things and more, but I had no idea how fast it would help. It took a matter of days to understand it all!

One thing I suggest to anyone who owns this game, would be to put the blocks up when you or your child are not playing with it, and to make sure you keep track of all the blocks. Even just loosing one piece would make it difficult to make the patterns.

Our Pattern Play is definitely a game that will be around my house for a long time! I would highly recommend this toy to anyone looking for something different for their family that gets both themselves and their children thinking!

Pink Princess Dress Review

I love dressing up my little girls in dresses and anything else girly I can find. Well I found a whole website dedicated to giving you everything you need to make your little girl look like a princess. Pink Princess not only has beautiful dresses for your little girl, but they also carry matching accessories like gloves, shoes, bags, and even hair accessories.

I received a white flower girl dress, with a solid bodice with a ribboned taffeta skirt. As soon as I took it out of the package I knew it would be perfect for my little princess, and I could not wait to put it on her. In fact, I put her in the dress as fast as I could.

As you can tell, my little princess was very happy to be in this dress. She was smiling the entire time she was in it. I loved that the sash on the dress is not only removable, but it also matches the design on the dress. The dress is made out of very high quality fabric that does not look like it will stain or rip very easily, which is very important when putting such a pretty dress on a 2 year old. I love the way the dress looks on my little girl! It fits her perfectly, and I’m not afraid of her playing in it and getting hurt, or ruining the dress. I think it would be a great dress for a flower girl, or even just to play dress up in.
