I have had a bad back since I was in my early twenties. Due in part to bad genes and just plain growing up a monkey. As I got older It got worse and I eventually had to have back surgery TWICE at the age of just 25. The doctors said that my x-ray looked like that of someone who got into a bad car wreck. During my recovery I found that it was essential to have a good shoe and to this day I am very picky about what I wear. Flip flops are very bad for the back and legs, but we all love them, so I wear them sparingly.

Well, if you have a very picky and sensitive body like me with the added bonus of fibromylagia, you will love these sandals. With Therafit, by Dr. Lisa Masterson, there is an answer. We all know her from the entertaining Doctors show. If you don’t, you should definitely watch. She has manufactured a shoe that makes it so that you can be absolutely comfortable in your flip flops or sandals and fashionable at the same time, which is very hard to find!

I have searched high and dry for a flip flop or sandal that wouldn’t leave my back and legs in bad pain just after an hour or less. I have only found two types so far that have managed this and The Therafit style is my favorite of them. The design is very ergonomic with a WOMAN’S comfort in mind. Finally, A sandal that looks as good as it feels!

First of all, Therafit’s presentation was so cute and thoughtful. They wrapped up the box like a regular gift! I love the colors and i’m a recycle nut, so I will get use out of the ribbon.

I chose the Tiffany Black Sandal. This particular style also comes in white. Look at the gorgeous detail !

I chose the black, which goes with absolutely everything as we all know, and I love the added bling on the top. I have worn these with skirts, dresses, maxis, jeans and capris. They go with everything! The jewels on the top really take away from any kind of geriatric feel that you might get wearing clunkier comfort shoes. They are made very durable and I do not see them giving up any time soon. They look like they will last years.

Now that we have ooh’d and ahh’d over the look of the shoe, let’s get into the specifics. The reason behind the ergonomics and just why it is so comfortable.

The Therafit has a special 4 layer system for maximum shock absorption and comfort. It is meant to be supportive for those who are on their feet a lot. I do a lot of walking because I can’t run with the way my back is, so these were just meant for me. The cushioning of the sole is adjustable depending on how soft you want the shoe to feel and it is meant to have the ultimate comfort for at least 12 hours of the day. Those without a back condition I can only imagine how comfortable these would be on you!

They would also provide the prevention of added damaged from wearing flip flops and other non-ergonomic shoes!

See those little balls? Those massage the bottom of your feet as you walk and you can tell that these help keep that comfort lasting all day. They have very thick soles, but not too thick and perfectly contour to the shape of your feet.

The three circles at the bottom are where they can adjust to how soft you want the fit to be.

It took me all of 5 min to get used to walking in them and then I was addicted hardcore. My feet, back, hips and legs love these. They fit perfectly. I normally wear a size 8.5 – 9 so these run big at size 8. If you are a half size, it is important to size down, because they run big.

Something very important for me to point out .

I just test drove a pair of new over 2 inch high flip flops. They looked comfy as can be and of course really cute, but not even an hour later I was in severe and I mean SEVERE pain in my feet. I didn’t even feel that kind of pain with Therafit at the END of the day. So that is just my glowing testament of how well these work.

Crayon Rocks Review and Giveaway Closed

My daughters 3rd Birthday was this last Sunday and instead of giving her more crayons to break in half we decided to go a different route. I hate finding pieces of crayons everywhere and hate how they break so easily. We were sent a package of Crayon Rocks to review for you.

About Crayon Rocks:

Hi, my name is Barbara Lee and I taught children with special needs for 23 years. I invented Crayon Rocks after being inspired by Jan Olsen, OTR, and the Handwriting Without Tears program. I learned from her how important it was to develop early a good tripod grip. Handwriting skills depends upon this.

Since a child’s first writing tool is usually a crayon, that crayon should be one that encourages him or her to use thumb, first and second fingers in a tripod grip. This is what makes Crayon Rocks a wonderful tool for fine motor development.

A Little Goes a Long Way

A really good crayon should take very little effort in applying great swaths of color to the paper. In fact, that crayon should be as much like paint as possible. Rich color that goes on smoothly and easily helps little fingers to grow strong as they spill their creative ideas onto paper.

I wanted a coloring tool that students with grip strength problems and disorders effecting fine motor control could use AND enjoy. It has been lots of fun to see what my students do with their Crayon Rocks.

What we think:

I love that Crayon Rocks are easy for children to hold and are non-toxic, vegan, and have zero phthalates! They are made in America from natural soy wax and colored with mineral pigments! With the exception of a few crayons, they are all very pigmented and very soft. When coloring with these crayons they do feel like you are painting instead of coloring with crayons.

My daughter was very excited about these crayons and has been obsessed with them since I gave them to her!

She loves them so much that she has been carrying them around the house and putting them in different containers along the way.

I love that they fit perfectly in her hand and do not break in half while she is coloring. The funny part is that my husband forgot about them and saw them in a cup and thought she had found colored rocks from outside. He even went to throw them away! Once he realized what they were he stopped of course, but I do like that they are pretty realistic looking (other than the bright colors of course).

I would recommend Crayon Rocks to anyone who has toddlers, or for presents for kids in your family. They are great to color with and perfect for kids hands! You can find Crayon Rocks on their website here.

What I think:

I love how much this machine can do! So far I have used it on our stove, our bathroom, our floors, and so much more! We have a lot of places in our house that have caked on dirt or grime that just will not come off! With the Steam Machine all I have to do is spray it down with the machine and wipe away the dirt. It makes cleaning those hard to reach places so much easier!

My first plan of attack was my stove. It was never really cleaned before we moved in and for some reason the pieces don’t come off of the stove itself. So there is always oil and grime stuck around the burner. When we first moved in I scrubbed for hours trying to clean them and couldn’t get it all off. The Steam Machine helped remove the majority of the grime with ease! I was very impressed since I knew how hard it was to try to get the little bit that I did get off before by just scrubbing.

The Steam Machine is very easy to set up too! You just add your water, add the attachments you want, turn it on, and within about 8 minutes you are ready to clean! I also love that it has a storage compartment in the front so that you can keep all the little attachments safe and of course in a place you can find them! The only thing I do not enjoy about this machine is that since I clean my parents house on occasion I wanted to be able to use this machine to make the job a little easier. The Steam Machine, at least from what I can tell, does not have a way to wrap the electrical cord or hose around the machine. However, I am very thankful for the built in handle!

After how good it cleaned the stove I decided to take it to the bathroom. Our bathroom is very small so not only is it hard to reach certain areas, but if I am using chemicals I can only clean for so long before I feel like I am going to pass out from the fumes. The Steam Machine does not use chemical to clean! So I can clean the whole bathroom in one go and trust that it is clean and germ-free! and the machine itself is pretty small so I can fit it into the bathroom with me and not feel crowded while trying to clean.

After asking around, I found that some machines either have the spray button on the machine itself or in a very awkward place. This Steam Machine has a trigger button that makes it super easy to use with any of the included attachments. I especially like the trigger when I am using the Steam mop attachment, because it is at the perfect level so that I don’t have to bend down and hurt my back trying to use it.

Another great use for this product is to clean up after pets. Our new kitty can make a mess with his food and his litter box, and I want to make sure that any mess he makes is completely clean and sanitized so that my girls don’t get into it. I love that I can use this machine for those quick clean ups and know that it is actually clean before they get to it. It is nice to know that this machine is easy to turn on and can be used at any time!

Overall I would recommend this product to anyone that would like to have a squeaky clean house without the use of harsh chemicals! I love being able to clean around my children without worrying about them inhaling the harsh chemicals I am using!

Take Care Of Your Pets With PetArmor Closed

With our new kitty comes great responsibility! Since he is so little we want to do whatever we can to make sure that he is happy and healthy. PetArmor has all of the products you need to keep your pets healthy and protect them from dragging “little friends” into your home.

PetArmor sent me some of these products to test and share my findings with you. One of the products is what I consider to be one of the most important products to have for your pet, Flea and Tick Repellent. I have been pretty much terrified of another flea infestation since about 4 years ago when I first got my puppy. I will never forget how many fleas there were! Since then I vowed I would do everything in my power to keep them as far away from me as possible. I received PetArmor for Cats/Kittens over 8 weeks old. It even kills ticks! Including the ticks that may transmit lyme disease!

On the box it says keep away from children, which for me is a no brainer. However, I LOVE that the way they are packaged. Not only are the in a box, but they are also in a little plastic container wrapped around the applicator that you have to cut off to open. After getting it open, it was very easy to use. You just snap the end of the applicator and apply to the back of the neck. Once on it is fast acting, and is long lasting so you can trust that it is working. You can also bathe your pet like normal because it is waterproof. Another thing I love is that it does not smell like other similar products. I hate that when I use other similar products that my cat will smell funky for weeks after.

Of course there are other things that you need to worry about when it comes to your pet. PetArmor also makes a line called VetTrust. VetTrust makes tons of great products to keep your pet clean and healthy. One being Medicated Antibacterial Anti-fungal Shampoo. Although the name might look a little scary, the soap is non-irritating and alcohol free! What’s great about this soap is that it cleans and disinfects to help fight against bacterial and fungal infections. This is another product that I was expecting to kill me from the fumes, but all I could smell was a scent of dish soap. I was very happy and surprised with how white my kitty was when he got out of the bath.

VetTrust also has calming chewable tablets for pets. Being a kitten, Carbon will sometimes go nuts for no apparent reason. When he gets in one of his “moods” he will start biting and scratching which is a big no-no around toddlers. So I love the calming tablets because they keep my kids scratch and bite free. Not only do these tablets come in handy for those random times, but they are great for car rides! I know that all of my cats have always hated riding in the car and would always cry the whole time we were driving. These tablets will help keep them calm and comfortable during their car ride. The tablets support relaxation and balanced behavior, they help with motion sickness and tension, and help calm nervousness and hyperactivity.

I was also sent some great vitamins, Skin and Coat Care Soft Chews and Joint Health Soft Chews. The Skin and Coat Care Soft Chews support healthy skin and a soft shiny coat. They contain Omega 3 and 6, and Vitamin E. The Joint Health Soft Chews support healthy joints and mobility. They contain the same levels of glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM as the leasing recommended veterinary brand. Both chews are made with real chicken and are for daily use. Carbon did not enjoy these as much as the calming tablets, but I noticed that if I gave him the chews before his meal he was hungry enough to eat them anyway.

John Paul Pet Review and Giveaway Closed

As you know we just got a cute little kitten. I never realized how dirty kittens are! They are messy eaters, and if they are litter trained they also get little pieces of litter stuck to them. Yuck! You could give them a bath, but how fun is giving a cat a bath every day? Even with my amazing kitten who is okay with baths, he can only tolerate so much water before he starts getting grumpy. So what do you do?

As you can see, our little kitty eats so fast that his nose and whisker area looks horrible! I find this to be the hardest spot to clean. Sure you can try to use soap, but you will just end up with scratches up and down your arms! Thanks to the John Paul Pet Puppy/Kitten Care pack we can take care of our new furry friends with ease!

The Care Pack includes Tearless Shampoo, Waterless Foam Shampoo, and Full Body and Paw Wipes. So far I have used and needed all three of these great products and I am glad to have them!

I love the scent of the Tearless Shampoo! It does not smell like your typical pet shampoo which is a nice change. I don’t like my pets smelling like chemicals so I try to avoid it when I can. This shampoo is made to be gentle enough to clean your pets face without irritation, and leave them smelling and looking clean. I was surprised that even without the harsh chemical smell that Carbon came out of his bath white as new and smelling great!

Even though the Shampoo works great there was still some residue left on his nose so I decided to try out the Full Body and Paw Wipes to see if they could fix the problem. Carbon really liked being cleaned with the wipes, and loved the extra attention. The great thing about these wipes is that they contain Lanolin which helps keep their paws and skin from cracking. Litter trained cats seem to always have dry paws from digging in their litter designed to absorb moisture. So I think it’s a great idea to use these wipes to help keep their paws in tip top shape.

Last but not least is the Waterless Foam Shampoo. Like I said before, giving baths to Carbon is not as hard as the cats I have had in the past, but after a while he does get annoyed. I can only give him a bath every couple of days otherwise he gets angry. I love that I can use the Waterless Shampoo in between baths to keep him nice and clean and of course happy!

Stanley Steemer Review and Giveaway! Closed

So the holidays are quickly approaching, which means so are the parties! We all love having family over, or at least some of our family but we hate having a messy house! One of the biggest problems we all face is keeping our carpets clean. Not all of us are lucky enough to have hard wood floors! So for those of us that are stuck with nasty carpets, we have to get them cleaned. Today I am going to review an awesome company called Stanley Steemer. If you have not heard of them before they will come to your house and clean your carpets for a very reasonable price!

Okay, so why would you pay someone else to come and clean your carpets when you can just do it yourself? By the time you rent a steam cleaner (unless you are one of the lucky few that own one), and buy the special cleaner you have already spent a decent amount of money. Not only that but then you have to move the furniture, and you have to clean your carpets yourself. Trust me on this one, steam cleaning your carpets is not a fun task. Unless you are a professional it takes a lot of time and energy to clean your carpets properly, and if the stains are bad enough chances are that you won’t get everything out.

Stanley Steemer came to my house to help us prepare for the holidays, and I could not be happier with my experience! I live in a very old house, with some very old carpets. No matter what we do we cannot seem to keep them clean. This is what some of the worst stains on the carpets in my house looked like before Stanley Steemer:

This stain has been here since we moved in, but has progressively gotten worse even though we hardly use the room.

As you can tell our floors were in desperate need of some help! When I called to make the appointment the lady on the other end was a complete sweetheart and was able to answer all my questions about their pricing, and appointment options and did not seem like someone just trying to make it through the rest of the day. I was able to make an appointment for only a couple days after I called. I was very excited about how quickly you could make an appointment. I now know that if anything happens to my carpets I can depend on them to come to my rescue when I need them too!

Cleaning day finally arrived, and Stanley Steemer was scheduled to arrive between 9am and 12pm. I was glad there was only a couple hours in between this time slot, and they informed me on the phone that they would call me when they were on their way. They called me about 20 minutes before knocking on my door, which gave me enough time to get my two girls ready to go to their Mima and Papa’s house. I was able to talk to them before leaving about what I wanted done, and whether or not they were going to use my husband for slave labor while I was away. We ended up getting our living room, one of our bedrooms, and even our area rug cleaned. They also let us know about getting our floors protected with their Teflon solution that protects substances from penetrating the top fiber layers of the carpet. We decided not to do this, but if it is anything like their cleaning services I am sure it is an amazing product! I was very surprised at how much these guys knew about their products, and what they do! They were able to explain to my husband not only how they cleaned the carpets, but also what might have caused the stains and why they had gotten worse.

I was very surprised at how quickly they had cleaned the carpets. In less than an hour my husband had called to let me know to bring the girls home and that the carpets were finished. When I came home my husband let me know that they had moved the furniture for us, and really had gotten a lot done in the amount of time I had been gone. As soon as I walked in the door I noticed a major difference. The whole house just seemed brighter! Here are some pictures of what I came home to:

I can honestly say that I have never seen our carpets look so nice! Now I cannot wait to have company over, and I am not afraid of them seeing my carpets!

I was also able to receive their spot treatment, which is a great way to clean stains before they stick. Since we have two little girls and a dog, we have already had to use it multiple times and luckily it is very easy to use!

Auntie Anne’s Apple Cinnamon Pretzel Giveaway! Closed

I love soft pretzels, in fact me and my friend get them every time we are at the mall. I think that this would be a really fun kit, and would be great for kids too. Good luck, and make sure that you let us know if you win!

Auntie Anne’s Apple Cinnamon Pretzel Review and Giveaway!

The Auntie Anne’s At-Home Baking Kits are a great way to have these awesome pretzels in the comfort of your own home! With the gas prices soaring now a days and the malls packed with people buying Christmas and holiday gifts, these kits are the way to go! I don’t know about you, but going to the mall, especially after this weekend and Black Friday, it’s the LAST thing on my to-do list!

What is also great about the At-Home Baking Kits, you can bake anything you want with them! They have a recipe on the side of the box that you can even make an apple tart with it! Also, inside there is a recipe for an Apple Cinnamon Pecan Monkey Bread.(Yummy!) Of course, I chose the traditional way and just made the simple pretzels.

Now when I first decided to make these, I am glad I had the time set aside! I didn’t realize that it would take an hour or so to make them! Even though it did take a while to mix, twist, and bake them, the results were definitely worth it and oh-so tasty!

At first, we got everything out of the box and read the directions. We mixed all of the ingredients together to form a “dough ball”. We had to add about another 1/4-1/2 cup of water to our dough mix because it just because it wasn’t mixing very well into a ball. After we finally made our big “dough ball”, we let the dough “rest” for thirty minutes like the instructions said.

After our dough was done “resting”, we took handfuls of the dough and rolled them out. It said to roll the dough out to about 1in, or the thickness of your finger and 36 inches long. We couldn’t get our dough to get that long without breaking so we did the best we could and they still turned out awesome! We ended up having smaller pretzels, but it made about 12 instead of the original 10. After we twisted them into pretzel shapes we baked them for about 8-10min and then sprinkled them with the cinnamon sugar. They looked so good, I could not wait to take a bite out of one of these bad boys!
